What to Expect (Response & Handling)

  • Acknowledgement: Most emails receive an automated confirmation.

  • Response times:

    • Corrections & urgent safety concerns: 24–48 hours

    • Newsroom tips, photo desk, submissions: 1–3 business days

    • General/admin, partnerships, grants: 3–5 business days

  • Embargoes: We accept embargoed material only with prior agreement; otherwise, communications are treated as on the record.

  • Confidentiality: If you require heightened confidentiality, state this before sharing sensitive details. We’ll discuss options and limits.

  • Not-for-profit: Canada Cartel operates as a federally registered NFP supported by volunteers and donors. Resources may affect turnaround times.

  • Standards: We publish to Canadian Press (CP) style, with clear labels (News, Photo Essay, Explainer, Profile, Op-Ed) and a posted Corrections policy.

  • Photojournalism ethics: Global adjustments only (exposure, colour, crop); no content alteration.

  • Privacy & Consent: Emails and submissions are processed under our Privacy Policy. By contacting us, you consent to our storing and using your information to respond to your inquiry.

  • CASL: Newsletter sign-ups require consent; every email includes unsubscribe options.
